More pics of cuteness!

A handful of random animal pics...

The snow is here!

And our dog LOVES it! Emma is at just the right height that she just walks along and scarfs down snow. Generally chomping it as she goes through the banks. It's pretty funny. SO, here's a pic of Emma in the snow...
We got about 10" total since Thursday. I went to Pep Boys friday night to get them to change my snowtires, since I still have the ones from last year, and even after making an appointment, it would have been a 2 hour wait, and cost $125. Yeah, right Pep Boys. You must be losing your mind! I am taking it back to the place that the snow tires came from. They can't get me in until Friday, which isn't great, but at least I'm not going to pay for them!

This week is Thanksgiving, so I'm excited. It's a pretty hectic week. Today we are going to get a xmas tree stand, as well as maybe some new decorations. Tomorrow, as well as Tuesday and Wednesday, I'm working, but tomorrow is puppy class! Hooray! We've been waiting for this! I'll update after class and let you know how it goes. Thursday is turkey day, and decorating, and Friday, I'll be working on Emma's doggie bed. Hopefully, it'll be done soon!

Emma went on her first loooong car ride yesterday, and the poor puppy was in the car for about 9 hours with us! We drove out to western Mass. to pick up Mike's mom for the week, and had to take Emma with us. She was terrific for the whole ride, but when we got off the highway outside of Albany, the road is really curvy, and she ended up getting sick. She was fine after that, and she seemed to enjoy herself. She slept most of the way home, which was nice. :) I'm glad that she handled it well. We'll try it again next week, when we bring her home.

Alright, I'm going to go make breakfast, but I'll post more pics of Emma's first snow and car trip soon!

This is one of my favorite pictures from the wedding. I have several, but I feel that this sums up my relationship with my sister-in-law. I think that I've been so wrapped up in stuff since the wedding, that I didn't really stop and take time to appreciate the fact that WE REALLY ARE FAMILY NOW! :) It's so exciting, and I am so happy that I was accepted with so much love. So to remind her of how much I love her friendship, and even the simple, silly phone calls we have mean so much!

So! It's been almost a month since my last post. :( I'm sorry. We are doing well in our house. Emma is settling in. She's gotten groomed once. She's been to doggie daycare a couple of times. She also is getting ready for puppy kindergarten, starting the week of Thanksgiving, i think.
I'm excited, because it's really important to me to get her involved in this particular school, it's supposed to be one of the best in the area for agility training, which is what I'm trying to do. So we'll see where it gets us.

Mike's 30th birthday has come and gone. He got a table saw, and a gift card to one of his favorite places- Home Depot. I had invited a couple of the guys he works with over, and Mike had a great time. All in all, it was a successful birthday.

There hasn't been much of anything else going on. I finished my quilting class. It was allright, I learned what I need to, and that was what was important to me.

I'm going to start posting a little more often, but for now, I'm headed to bed...

The Table!

I kept promising a picture of the new dining room set, so now that I have a couple minutes, here it is!
It's solid cherry, 2 captains chairs, 4 regular chairs, and black sueded upholstery. It's my favorite, and we love it!

Another week went by...

And apprarently I suck at this game. Sorry that I haven't updated in a while...It's been pretty hectic! Since the last time I posted...

Emma went to the vet, Saturday the 4th. She got put on a handful of medications, and diagnosed with Coxsackie, but she seems to be all better now. We have been on two trips to PetSmart, (although I think we'd like Petco better). She did well both times, we went on consecutive weekends. We *seem* to be completely house broken, we haven't peed or pooped in the house, and we are very deliberately going to the door and making noise when we have to go out. We have also been taking her on nightly walks around the block. She's still little, so this is a mild pain in the butt, but we are getting better.

I had quilting class the last couple of Tuesdays. I have tonight off, which is probably good since I have to finish my top and buy fabric for the back. It's what's called a split rail quilt, and it seems to be going together fairly easily. I used all fall colored fabrics, so when it's done, i can still hang it up this year.

What else? Oh, Mike and I picked out our dining room table. That was fun! I wanted a pub height, and Mike didn't, so we had a little tiff in the first store. We went home for lunch, and went to a different store, where we found one that we fell in love with. It was delivered last Wednesday, and it looks great! I'll post pics later tonight.

Hmm, I made a delicious dilled pot roast Friday night, and also honey-ginger glazed carrots. I can email you either recipe. They were both yummy. My goal is to try 2-3 new recipes a week. this week is Thai food and pork goulash. I'll keep you posted on those.

Mike and I tried to go to the AppleFest this weekend. Now the AppleFest site is about 2 miles from the highway exit. Usually, it takes about minutes. This time, it took OVE AN HOUR. I can honestly say that it was not worth it, and both of us were so frusterated by the time that we got there, we quickly left.

Sunday, we ended up cleaning out the garage and flower beds in the front. Not the most fun task in the world, but it needed to get done.
Allright, I feel like I've made it up to you. I leave you with pictures of Emma, and Zeus...

Wake UP Jessica!

I think I'm about to fall asleep at my desk. Yes, I know that's ridiculous, but between this retarded cold, and the adventures that were last night, I am so ready to go back to bed. After talking to Mike a few times today, it seems that Emma's doing rather well in her crate. She woke us up at 5 this morning, which Mike was sweet enough to take her out and let me go back to sleep, but after she was fed, and went back out SHE decided it was time to take a nap. Puppies sleep hard! Oh well, it gave me a couple minutes (more like 30!) to rest before she got up again. She's still the best wedding present that my parents could have given us! She's doing very well adjusting. As are the cats, actually. Well, two out of three, which isn't bad, right? Zeus and Jaime just stare at her, Zeus has been following her around sniffing her, and Abigail has a long way to go before she's anywhere near okay with the whole thing.

Tomorrow is Friday though, and I'm certainly looking forward to that. Nothing planned for tomorrow, which is fine. i'm making spaghetti for dinner tonight, and since it's going to be crappy and cold, I'm thinking of making porkchops tomorrow night. The great thing we found out last night about having a puppy that's a chowhound, is that we need to sit at the table to eat. Which is actually really nice!

So about the table thing, we are going to pick out a REAL dining room table this weekend, we hope. No, that sounds wrong. We are definately going, we just aren't sure we are going to be able to agree right away. The only reason we are able to get a new table was because of all the generous gift that we recieved from the wedding. It's really exciting, as we have been dreaming about a new table for a couple years now! So hopefully, as Thanksgiving's coming up soon, we will be able to agree this weekend, but knowing how Mike operates, it's going to probably take about a month! Haha!

Still no word as to whether or not Mike's been put on this TDY assignment. I'm cool either way, it just would be nice to know. He spoke with the person that is in charge of it today, and what Mike told me is that if he goes, he could know as late as Monday during the day that he has to leave Monday night. I'll make it through, I know, I have a great new ice cream maker and a puppy!

No decision on going to the pumpkin patch yet, it's going to depend on the weather. I will most likely start decorating the house this weekend, so I will post pictures when i do!

Oh Boy! It's Wednesday, which means Emma's coming! I am very excited, we started getting everything together yesterday, so all her toys are in a basket, her crate is all set up, her food and water bowls washed and ready to go, and her blankets are getting washed as we speak. We also tried to puppy proof as much as possible, which is goo. Of course, the cats decided to scent up everything we bought for the puppy, and Zeus was afraid of the dog's toy basket which made for a good laugh. But she's finally coming!!!

On another note, I started a new quilting class last night. I felt like I could really be helped by learning more, so I thought I'd try more classes. I didn't even think about it, but it' kind of worked out, seeing as how Mike has his class on Tuesdays. It's only for three more weeks, so it should be fun. I'm making a split rail patterned lap quilt. It's a useless size, but it'll be good for hanging when I get a quilt rack someday. Or a good crib sized quilt. I feel like I picked nice, solid, fall colors. To me, picking out fabrics, matching colors, etc. is the most fun part of the whole experience. It's nice to know that I have a talent for that. One of the other women in my class told me that I had done a terrific job, and that she could have used me to help pick her fabrics. Ah, at least someone in the class had liked what I did!

I'm procrastinating doing the reviews of the wedding and honeymoon. I know I should, I just have been too mentally drained to get there. For those of you who haven't seen, there's a ton of pictures posted at http://www.snapfish.com/, and the user id is: sweeney_kohler_wedding@yahoo dot com. The password is mikeandjess.
